Senior IT Project Manager - KSA Riyadh

Role overview

This position calls for an experienced IT project leader in Riyadh to oversee the delivery of software, infrastructure, and systems initiatives. The role involves shaping project plans, coordinating technical teams, and keeping execution aligned with business goals and delivery standards.

Key accountabilities

• Lead IT initiatives from planning through execution, monitoring, and final closure.
• Set project scope, business objectives, deliverables, schedules, and technical requirements.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, developers, QA, infrastructure, and security groups.
• Monitor progress, dependencies, risks, and issues, and put corrective actions in place when needed.
• Apply the right delivery approach based on the project, including SDLC, Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
• Coordinate with vendors and manage third-party integrations.
• For Agile teams, run sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Make sure testing, quality checks, and change management activities are completed properly.
• Report status updates, milestones, risks, and escalations to the Programs and Projects Manager.
• Support documentation, knowledge transfer, and readiness for post-go-live support.

Required background

The ideal candidate should have a solid grasp of IT systems, software development, and infrastructure delivery. The role also requires experience managing projects using Agile/Scrum and/or Waterfall methods, along with the confidence to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.

Additional qualifications and skills

• Strong risk identification, mitigation, and problem-solving capability.
• Experience with project and collaboration platforms such as ITSM, ITIL, MS Project, Azure DevOps, and ERP systems.
• Ability to manage several IT projects at the same time.
• Experience producing BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, and process flows.
• Comfort with data analysis and defining business rules.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to connect business strategy with suitable IT solutions.
• Familiarity with process modelling tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 3 to 8 years of experience in managing IT projects.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, or CBAP are preferred.
• Experience working with distributed and cross-functional teams.
• Bilingual candidates are preferred.
