Senior Director - City Operations

About the Role

The Senior Director - City Operations will be responsible for overseeing the entire business performance and Profit & Loss across multiple cities, aiming to drive profitable and sustainable growth. This role demands ownership of city operations encompassing dark stores, fulfillment, and last-mile delivery to ensure superior speed, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage complete business outcomes and P&L for a portfolio of cities, focusing on profitability and sustainable expansion.
• Supervise operations across dark stores, fulfillment centers, and last-mile delivery, ensuring outstanding operational speed and reliability.
• Design and implement strategic actions to enhance unit economics, increase productivity, elevate service quality, and improve operational efficiency at scale.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Category, Supply Chain, Finance, and Central Operations teams to address complex challenges and unlock new growth opportunities.
• Lead efforts in network expansion, capacity planning, and ensuring operational preparedness for new market launches and business initiatives.
• Create scalable operational models, establish governance frameworks, and promote data-driven decision-making processes to support swift growth.
• Mentor and develop high-performing regional and city leadership teams, fostering a culture focused on ownership, innovation, and excellence in execution.

Qualifications and Experience

• 10 to 18 years of extensive leadership experience in large-scale operations within quick commerce, e-commerce, logistics, supply chain management, retail, or consumer technology sectors.
• Demonstrated success in managing multi-city businesses with full P&L accountability and delivering tangible business results, balancing growth, customer experience, and profitability.
• Strong leadership capabilities, adept at stakeholder management and analysis, with experience overseeing large teams distributed across various locations.
