About the Position
The Oregon Department of Education is hiring a Recruitment Training Specialist within its Office of Relations, Management, and Support (ORMS). This limited-duration role (ending July 31, 2027) operates under a non-exempt status and follows a hybrid work arrangement, balancing remote and onsite duties. The specialist will aid in delivering training that enhances recruitment efforts, ensuring processes are equitable and legally compliant.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation and continual update of training materials covering recruitment tasks such as job posting, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.
- Support the development of various training formats, including instructor-led sessions, virtual classes, and self-paced modules, using established instructional design methods.
- Ensure training content aligns with applicable state and federal regulations, specifically concerning veterans' preferences and equal employment opportunities.
- Prepare and refine guidance documents, toolkits, and reference resources consistent with statewide policies and agency procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of three years’ experience in designing, organizing, or conducting employee or adult education programs, or an equivalent blend of education and work.
- Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in Education, Organizational Psychology, Business/Public Administration, Training and Development, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources, or related disciplines.
Preferred Competencies
- Strong grasp of adult learning principles for effective instructional design.
- Proficiency in facilitating training sessions to varied audiences through diverse delivery methods.
- Capability to evaluate program outcomes using analytical methods and feedback.
- An understanding of equity, legal compliance, and accessibility considerations in training and recruitment.
- Experience fostering partnerships in recruitment and talent acquisition to promote equitable hiring practices.
Additional Information
- The salary ranges from $5,102 to $7,537 monthly for non-PERS participants, with an adjusted range of $5,456 to $8,060 for PERS-qualifying employees.
- This position requires authorized work status in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided.
- Eligible veterans and Oregon National Guard members may receive hiring preference with proper documentation.
