Role Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and analytical Quantity Surveyor to be based in Lusail, Qatar. This role involves managing cost planning, preparing estimates, quantity measurement, and conducting commercial analysis for construction initiatives. You will collaborate closely with project teams, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure precise cost control, competitive tendering, and successful project completion from pre-contract stages to execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine design drawings, specifications, and project scopes to determine cost impacts.
• Carry out detailed quantity take-offs during concept, schematic, and detailed design phases in line with acknowledged measurement standards.
• Create precise Bills of Quantities and comprehensive cost estimates compliant with POMI, NRM, and CESMM standards.
• Assist in tender preparation, including cost schedules, rate build-ups, and commercial documentation.
• Research market prices for materials, labor, and subcontractors in Qatar and the broader GCC.
• Engage in value engineering efforts to find cost-saving opportunities without reducing quality.
• Assess tender submissions and supplier quotations for rate accuracy and commercial soundness.
• Provide clear commercial risk evaluations, identify discrepancies, and liaise with consultants and clients for clarification.
• Maintain orderly cost data, benchmarks, and historical records to aid in future estimates.
• Coordinate with project teams to monitor expenses, track changes, and ensure deadlines for surveying deliverables.
• Support bid review sessions and negotiations by presenting clear findings and proposals.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.
• Professional accreditation such as MRICS or CIOB, or active pursuit of these credentials.
• Between 5 and 8 years of experience in quantity surveying with documented expertise in cost estimation and BOQ preparation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of measurement standards like POMI, NRM, and CESMM.
• Proficient in cost management software such as CostX and Microsoft Office applications.
• Successful history of developing accurate cost forecasts, performing rate analyses, and managing commercial aspects of construction projects.
• Familiarity with tendering, procurement, and subcontractor pricing strategies.
• Preferably experienced in construction projects within the Middle East or GCC region.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal; Arabic skills are a bonus.
• Excellent analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
• Capability to organize complex tasks, manage various priorities, and adhere to strict deadlines.
• A collaborative approach suitable for working with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and Qatari construction standards is advantageous.
