ML Software Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled ML Software Engineer to join our team in Munich, Germany. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication abilities and preferably have experience in the life sciences sector.

Primary Responsibilities and Required Expertise

• Develop and deploy machine learning systems using frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX, focusing on solutions beyond hosted large language models.
• Create and manage data processing pipelines specifically designed for image datasets, with openness to similar applications such as proteomics data pipelines.
• Handle full MLOps lifecycle tasks including model training, validation, deployment, and ongoing quality monitoring.
• Write high-quality Python code that follows software engineering best practices such as performance optimization, thorough documentation, unit testing, and code maintainability.
• Possess proficient working knowledge of PyTorch.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills

• Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with experiment tracking tools like Weights & Biases or MLFlow.
• Exposure to data processing platforms such as Kubeflow is a plus.
• Background in computer vision problems, including working with OpenCV, is desirable.
• Experience with cloud infrastructures, especially AWS, is recommended.
• Ability to develop software in regulated environments under strict compliance guidelines is advantageous.
