About the Role
This position is a contract role based at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) located in Changi, East Region, Singapore. As a lead in sector partnerships, the incumbent will be integral to shaping vital industry and institutional collaborations, connecting SUTD's research and innovation efforts with market demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare senior university leadership for high-level meetings with briefing documents, strategic advice, and talking points.
- Act as the main counterpart to senior external stakeholders, identifying innovation needs and promoting SUTD as a preferred collaborator.
- Lead the comprehensive development and negotiation of major partnership proposals, such as joint laboratories and collaborative research projects.
- Manage a portfolio of strategic grants, ensuring proper legal, intellectual property, and financial oversight.
- Supervise and mentor a team of partnership associates to ensure smooth and effective operational performance.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses 7 to 10 years in business development, industry partnerships, or research commercialization.
- Demonstrates the ability to support senior leaders and skillfully maneuver complex organizational environments with confidentiality.
- Has a proven history of establishing substantial partnerships exceeding $500,000 and handling intricate legal and IP negotiations.
- Brings 2 to 3 years of experience in leading professional teams within dynamic, multi-stakeholder contexts.
