Role Overview
As a Maintenance Technician, your primary focus will be maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring equipment safety and quality service, and executing maintenance and repair tasks efficiently on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain excellent customer relations by engaging positively with site contacts and end-users while embodying a service-oriented mindset.
- Enhance customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality service and proactive communication regarding job status, arrival timings, and safety updates.
- Present a professional appearance by wearing clean, well-maintained KONE work attire.
- Inform customers on equipment safety and operational status after each visit, suggesting corrective steps if necessary following local protocols.
- Ensure the safety of users and maintain a safe working environment during all site visits.
- Adhere strictly to safety practices and instructions, consulting Technical Helpdesk when uncertain about tasks.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, urgent repairs, and 24/7 service calls within quality standards and time constraints.
- Take prompt action on-site upon identifying any high-risk issues, escalating to relevant parties as needed.
- Identify and execute service repairs immediately where possible or escalate potential sales leads.
- Plan daily workload effectively in coordination with supervisors.
- Record accurate, real-time information of work done and materials used to support transparent customer communication and billing.
- Manage inventory and stock in designated proximity stock areas.
- Keep all service tools, equipment, and vehicles well-maintained and secure.
- Provide feedback to supervisors and quality teams to support continuous improvement in products, methods, and safety.
- Report incidents or near misses promptly to supervisors.
- Engage in ongoing competence development through on-the-job training, e-learning, classroom sessions, and mentoring.
- Communicate any skill gaps proactively to supervisors or Technical Help Desk and provide coaching to assigned personnel as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant educational background or practical experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Vertical Transportation fields.
- Experience within the elevator and escalator industry is preferred but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers in service or technical roles.
- Solid understanding of electronics and control systems.
- Capability to work independently while managing field service activities responsibly.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
