Responsibilities

• Maintain and coordinate an up-to-date asset register for the facility.
• Plan and manage refurbishment projects, equipment replacements, and capital works.
• Identify preventative maintenance needs and devise an appropriate maintenance schedule.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and schedules for both preventative and corrective maintenance, including essential services.
• Supervise external contractors and on-site maintenance activities.
• Keep thorough records of all maintenance work conducted.
• Maintain adequate inventory of stock items needed for routine maintenance tasks.
• Oversee landscaping and grounds upkeep, including watering and tidiness.
• Ensure high standards of maintenance in resident living areas and public spaces.
• Manage testing and tagging procedures at the facility; carry out tasks if qualified.
• Support the General Manager with fire and evacuation plans and deliver basic training to new staff as needed.
• Ensure company vehicles are clean, tidy, and serviced in line with scheduled maintenance.
• Provide on-call maintenance support outside regular duty hours as directed.
• Perform additional duties within skill scope as assigned by the organization.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proficient general maintenance and gardening skills.
• Possession of a current Driver's License.
• A current National Police Certificate or eligibility to obtain one.
• Experience or knowledge in developing and managing a maintenance program.
• Background in maintenance and horticultural management.
• Accredited trade certificate relevant to the role.
• Certified in testing and tagging electrical equipment.
• Experience working within residential aged care or a related field is advantageous.

A trade qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
