Role overview

SOFAR is hiring an experienced Key Account Manager to support its utility-focused business in the DACH region, with a strong emphasis on PV and battery energy storage solutions. The position centers on building and managing relationships with important customers such as project developers, EPC partners, and utilities, while helping secure new business and grow existing accounts in coordination with the regional leadership team.

What you will do

  • Build, manage, and strengthen relationships with key utility customers, including developers, EPC companies, and utilities.
  • Assist with RFQs, tender responses, and commercially sound proposals.
  • Take the lead on, or support, discussions around contract terms such as delivery obligations, performance conditions, liquidated damages, and service level agreements.
  • Work closely with internal technical, legal, and finance stakeholders to move deals forward.
  • Handle long sales cycles and help close complex B2B opportunities.
  • Spot new business prospects and support the growth of existing partnerships.

What we are looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in B2B sales or key account management, preferably within the energy or utility sector.
  • Good understanding of energy-related systems such as PV, BESS, and grid infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of contract frameworks and foundational contract law.
  • Familiarity with German and EU energy regulations as well as tendering procedures.
  • German at native or fluent level.
  • English at business level (B2/C1).
