Overview
The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), located in Toronto and one of North America's premier art museums hosting over a million visitors annually, is seeking a dedicated IT Technician to join their Information Technology department. This is a temporary full-time position (35 hours per week) paying between $31.11 and $38.88 hourly.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support by diagnosing and remedying hardware, software, email, network, and peripheral device issues.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors when necessary to resolve technical problems.
- Install, assemble, and configure computing devices, monitors, network infrastructure, and peripherals including printers and scanners.
- Manage mobile device setups and handle cable installations or office rewiring for new hardware deployments.
- Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and business/administrative software packages; adjust specific applications for departmental needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems and configurations.
- Support technology design and deployment projects including upgrades and enhancements.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proven proficiency and experience with Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android environments.
- Minimum three years of progressively responsible IT experience or an equivalent blend of education and work history.
- Preferred MCP or MCSE certifications.
- Strong expertise with Microsoft Windows Server (2016+), Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft Exchange (2016+).
- Experience working with Microsoft Office suites (2013, 2016, including Mac versions).
- Sound understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols.
- Exceptional documentation, discovery, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining composure and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
