Role overview
Jefferies is looking for a driven Associate to join its Infrastructure Investment Banking and Advisory team in Sydney. The position sits within a relationship-focused franchise serving the Australia and New Zealand infrastructure market, and offers the chance to contribute to both execution and client development efforts.
The role centers on transaction support and analytical work, with increasing exposure to client-facing activities and origination support. Working alongside senior bankers, the Associate will help deliver strategic advisory and M&A solutions for infrastructure investors and corporate clients.
Transaction execution
- Help deliver infrastructure M&A and strategic advisory mandates from start to finish.
- Create and update financial models and valuation work, including DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transaction analysis.
- Support due diligence coordination, manage data rooms, and assist with transaction documents.
- Draft polished pitchbooks, marketing materials, and client presentation decks.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and outside advisers such as legal, accounting, and technical specialists.
Research and analysis
- Perform in-depth research on companies and industry themes across infrastructure subsectors.
- Track market conditions, regulatory changes, and investor activity across ANZ.
- Turn research into clear, client-ready insights and strategic recommendations.
Client and origination support
- Assist senior bankers in sourcing and assessing potential opportunities.
- Contribute ideas and prepare materials for pitches to new and existing clients.
- Support ongoing client relationships through meeting preparation and follow-up work.
Team support and quality control
- Work closely with Analysts, VPs, and senior leaders to maintain accuracy and presentation quality.
- Review and improve junior analysts’ outputs when needed.
- Maintain strong attention to detail while working to demanding transaction deadlines.

Requirements
- 3 to 6 years of experience in investment banking, infrastructure advisory, or a related area.
- Proven experience supporting M&A or strategic advisory transactions.
- Advanced capability in financial modelling and valuation methods.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure sectors and market dynamics in ANZ is strongly preferred.
