About the Role
Our client, a prominent and well-established national education-focused representative organisation, is seeking an experienced HR Director to oversee and lead their human resources function at a senior strategic level. This position offers a chance to manage HR operations not only tactically but also in alignment with the organisation’s long-term goals. The HR team supports approximately 100 staff members, and the role involves both operational oversight and strategic direction across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct comprehensive HR strategy and management across all aspects within both Ireland and Northern Ireland.
- Coordinate workforce planning alongside recruitment and selection efforts, engaging with external partners and agencies.
- Manage attendance and leave systems ensuring organisational policies are correctly followed.
- Guide and assist line managers on performance management processes, including probationary assessments.
- Provide continuous reports and HR insights to senior leadership teams.
- Lead development and delivery of training programs for human resource growth.
- Develop and maintain key policy documents, including the Employee Handbook.
- Identify and mitigate workforce-related risks, including succession planning and business continuity strategies.
Candidate Requirements
- Extensive senior-level experience in HR, with preference for exposure to industrial relations and unionised workplace environments.
- Thorough understanding of employment law applicable in Ireland.
- Proven capability in managing relationships with senior managers and external agencies.
- Familiarity with HR technologies, including time and attendance systems and HRIS platforms.
Working Conditions and Benefits
- Work schedule includes three days per week onsite at the Dublin 1 location and two days working remotely.
