Job description

About the Role

Our client, a reputable London-based Capital Advisory practice operating under a well-established Japanese banking group, seeks a Financial Restructuring Analyst to support their expanding debt advisory and restructuring team. This group boasts a legacy exceeding 100 years, is backed by a global network of over 750 professionals across multiple continents, and has delivered over 120 billion in capital funding within the last five years.

The team has a notable track record, completing approximately twenty transactions in the last financial year alone, including complex creditor-side mandates and large-scale recapitalisations. The team structure is intentionally flat, led by seasoned managing directors and handling a high volume of transactions, offering early responsibility and substantial exposure to modelling and analytics.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support all phases of corporate restructuring assignments from initiation to completion.
  • Develop complex financial models and perform valuation analyses; prepare materials for client presentations.
  • Compose briefing documents and conduct thorough company and sector research.
  • Analyze and synthesize data to form insights on businesses and their market context.
  • Provide ongoing analytical and research assistance during active transactions.
  • Maintain transparent communication with team members regarding task progress.
  • Begin cultivating a professional network spanning legal, accounting, advisory, and investment communities.
  • Work collaboratively with M&A advisory teams to enhance deal execution.

Candidate Profile

  • Exceptional academic achievements.
  • Current analyst-level experience within investment banking or asset management institutions.
  • Proven participation in managing corporate restructuring deals.
  • Advanced competency in quantitative analysis and ownership of financial modelling.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of market dynamics.

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Structured, on-the-job training and professional growth opportunities.
  • Flexible team-based hybrid working arrangements.
  • Collaborative work culture featuring a flat hierarchy and frequent senior-level interactions.
  • Access to international affinity groups for professional networking.
  • Competitive pension contributions and comprehensive private healthcare coverage.
