About the Role
Our client, a reputable London-based Capital Advisory practice operating under a well-established Japanese banking group, seeks a Financial Restructuring Analyst to support their expanding debt advisory and restructuring team. This group boasts a legacy exceeding 100 years, is backed by a global network of over 750 professionals across multiple continents, and has delivered over 120 billion in capital funding within the last five years.
The team has a notable track record, completing approximately twenty transactions in the last financial year alone, including complex creditor-side mandates and large-scale recapitalisations. The team structure is intentionally flat, led by seasoned managing directors and handling a high volume of transactions, offering early responsibility and substantial exposure to modelling and analytics.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support all phases of corporate restructuring assignments from initiation to completion.
- Develop complex financial models and perform valuation analyses; prepare materials for client presentations.
- Compose briefing documents and conduct thorough company and sector research.
- Analyze and synthesize data to form insights on businesses and their market context.
- Provide ongoing analytical and research assistance during active transactions.
- Maintain transparent communication with team members regarding task progress.
- Begin cultivating a professional network spanning legal, accounting, advisory, and investment communities.
- Work collaboratively with M&A advisory teams to enhance deal execution.
Candidate Profile
- Exceptional academic achievements.
- Current analyst-level experience within investment banking or asset management institutions.
- Proven participation in managing corporate restructuring deals.
- Advanced competency in quantitative analysis and ownership of financial modelling.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of market dynamics.
