About the Role and Organization
The Deputy Manager position at Adani Group focuses on managing the operation and maintenance of PECVD equipment within solar cell manufacturing. Adani Group is a leading diversified Indian conglomerate with 10 publicly traded companies, excelling in transport logistics and energy infrastructure development across India. Adani Solar, part of the group, is the largest vertically integrated solar PV manufacturer in India with manufacturing capacities for cells, modules, ingots, and wafers.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain PECVD machines to ensure consistent and high-quality thin film deposition.
- Respond promptly to PECVD equipment breakdowns, perform troubleshooting, and conduct root cause analyses to minimize downtime.
- Optimize process parameters such as gas flow, temperature, and pressure to enhance thin film uniformity and solar cell efficiency.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans to address machine failures and improve reliability.
- Perform quality checks to verify thin film thickness, uniformity, and adhesion meeting stringent standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and applicable regulations throughout PECVD operations.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation on process parameters, machine performance, production output, and daily shift checks.
- Lead and train a team of technicians, fostering a safety-conscious and continuously improving work environment.
- Identify and facilitate process improvements within the diffusion area to enhance overall efficiency.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as Cell Maintenance leads and external partners including equipment suppliers, maintenance contractors, and regulatory authorities.
Qualifications and Experience
- B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering is required; BE/BTech is preferred.
- 2 to 5 years of practical experience operating PECVD systems within the solar manufacturing sector, with a strong emphasis on equipment upkeep and process optimization.
Technical Competencies
- Experience in continuous improvement, process control, and yield enhancement.
- Strong production and quality management skills, with commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
