Role Overview
As a Production Operator reporting to the Production Shift Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing various aspects of the GIB® plasterboard manufacturing process to ensure smooth and continuous production.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine checks on the plant's operations and manage semi-automated equipment via computer systems
- Monitor and control chemical and physical parameters throughout the board manufacturing process
- Refill additive lines and operate machinery as needed to maintain uninterrupted production flow
- Carry out quality assurance tasks and promptly report any faults or issues
- Engage in technical troubleshooting and effectively handle multiple production demands simultaneously
Candidate Profile
- Possess mechanical or technical aptitude, with an interest in working with computer-controlled equipment
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills along with numerical proficiency
- Forklift experience is advantageous and enhances suitability for the role
- Qualifications or experience in mechanical or process engineering are highly regarded
- Physically capable of safely performing manual handling tasks
- Self-driven with an ability to work independently while being a proactive team member
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in work
- Committed to workplace safety with a belief that all injuries can be prevented
- Mechanically and technically minded, including undergoing a related assessment during the interview
Work Schedule and Benefits
The role involves rotating shifts following training: 2 day shifts from 7 am to 7 pm, followed by 2 night shifts from 7 pm to 7 am, then 4 consecutive days off.
