Cyber Security Specialist

Role Overview

As a Cyber Security Specialist at flyadeal, you will be responsible for investigating cybersecurity incidents, analyzing digital evidence, monitoring new cyber threats, and supporting the enforcement of security measures. Collaborating closely with various internal teams, you will help detect, respond to, and reduce cyber risks while enhancing the organization's overall security infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep track of security alerts and conduct investigations into cybersecurity incidents.
• Examine logs from diverse sources to detect potential threats.
• Analyze and prioritize incidents based on severity and impact for effective response.
• Collect forensic evidence following industry standards.
• Assist in incident response including threat analysis, investigating breaches, and system recovery.
• Correlate multiple security events to uncover vulnerabilities and attack patterns.
• Manage cybersecurity incidents from detection through to their resolution.
• Write incident reports, provide security recommendations, and document post-incident findings.
• Continuously monitor external threat intelligence for new cyber risks.
• Work with threat intelligence teams to evaluate indicators of compromise and trends in cyber attacks.
• Implement defense-in-depth strategies and adhere to cybersecurity best practices.
• Identify security weaknesses and suggest effective mitigation measures.
• Support incident response specific to cloud security issues.
• Coordinate cybersecurity initiatives with internal teams and external technology providers.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• At least one year of professional experience in Cybersecurity, Security Operations Centers (SOC), Incident Response, or Information Security roles.
• Good grasp of cybersecurity fundamentals, security controls, and network security concepts.
• Knowledge of incident response methodologies and digital forensic procedures.
• Experience or familiarity with SIEM solutions, endpoint security, and security monitoring tools is advantageous.
• Understanding cloud security principles is beneficial.
• Possession of cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CEH, GSEC, or equivalent is preferred.
