Job description

Overview

The Credit Controller role involves overseeing and managing the credit limits and exposure for customers. This position requires assessing client creditworthiness and setting suitable credit terms, authorizing or restricting deliveries based on credit limits, as well as pursuing overdue payments promptly. The role includes regular reconciliation of customer accounts and addressing any billing discrepancies.

Key Duties

  • Monitor and manage the credit limits and overall credit exposure of customers.
  • Evaluate clients' financial standing to suggest appropriate credit terms.
  • Authorize or deny supplies in accordance with credit policies.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on receivables and collect payments effectively.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve disputes related to billing.
  • Generate and maintain aging reports, collection forecasts, and various management reports.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Project teams to manage customer accounts.
  • Examine contracts and payment terms specifically for contracting and industrial clientele.
  • Manage letters of credit, bank guarantees, and trade finance transactions.
  • Coordinate with the legal department regarding legal proceedings.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Seven to twelve years of professional experience in credit control and accounts receivable management.
  • Proven background working with contracting, construction, industrial, manufacturing, and project-oriented customers.
  • Thorough understanding of letter of credit (LC) accounting, bank guarantees, and trade finance processes.
  • Practical experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or equivalents.
  • Strong analytical ability paired with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting software.
  • Capacity to work under pressure while successfully achieving collection objectives.
