Cook II

Position Overview

This role involves preparing ingredients essential for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and preserving. You will be responsible for washing and peeling fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as measuring and mixing ingredients. Food preparation and cooking must comply with recipes, quality standards, plating guidelines, and food preparation checklists, including preparing cold dishes.

Operational Duties

Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Conduct tests to ensure food is thoroughly cooked and consistently monitor food quality throughout preparation. Prepare and clean the workspace before and after tasks. Serve food in appropriate containers with precise portion sizes. Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment. Ensure that both equipment and food temperatures are maintained at proper levels.

Safety and Compliance

Adhere strictly to all company policies regarding safety and security. Report any maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe work environments to the manager. Complete all safety training and certifications. Maintain a clean, professional uniform and appearance. Safeguard confidential information and protect company assets.

Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues. Foster and sustain positive working relationships to support team goals. Listen to and appropriately address concerns raised by other employees. Uphold all quality expectations and standards diligently.

Physical Demands

You will be required to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or throughout shifts. Tasks involve reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. You must be capable of moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• Experience: At least one year of relevant work experience.
• Supervision: No supervisory experience required.
• Licenses or Certifications: None required.
