Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Commis I specializing in Western cuisine to be part of our culinary team in Lucknow, India. This entry-level role involves assisting in the preparation and cooking of Western dishes while honing culinary skills under senior chefs' supervision.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits for Western dishes.
• Support senior chefs with cooking and plating menu items.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the workstation, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Learn basic Western cooking techniques guided by experienced chefs.
• Handle proper storage and labeling of ingredients and prepared foods.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service operations.
• Assist with kitchen inventory management and restocking as necessary.
• Adapt Western recipes using local ingredients to suit regional tastes in Lucknow.
• Participate actively in daily briefings and suggest improvements for the menu.
• Help clean and maintain kitchen tools and work areas.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or degree in Hotel Management or equivalent is required; a culinary school diploma or certificate is preferred.
• Basic proficiency with knives and fundamental Western cooking methods.
• Awareness of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
• Capability to follow recipes and instructions precisely.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and proper usage.
• Additional 2-3 years of experience in hotel catering sales is advantageous.
