Role overview

A well-established global provider of supply chain services for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries is hiring a Buyer for its Westport, County Mayo operation. Key responsibilities

  • Prepare customer price quotations on request, with a focus on delivering the best possible value and keeping quotation records for audit and policy compliance.
  • Work closely with external suppliers, engineering, pharmaceutical and biomedical customers, and subcontractors to maintain effective working relationships across operational activities.
  • Create purchase orders for both new and existing products.
  • Use the company ERP system to process sales orders and manage company-owned stock.
  • Handle customer-owned inventory, including issuing, receiving, and updating stock through customer ERP systems.
  • Coordinate with other internal teams so that store-related processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Manage supplier returns when required.
  • Keep stock control documentation accurate and up to date.
  • Follow all company health and safety requirements and ensure compliance in daily work.

Required experience and skills

  • Background in procurement and negotiation, ideally gained in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Practical experience using ERP platforms such as SAP.
  • Strong computer literacy, especially with Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Dependable, hard-working, and able to work consistently to standard.
