About the Role

Av Pound & Co Limited is expanding its Forest Chemicals Division and seeking a dedicated Business Development Representative (BDR) with a strong commercial focus to promote business growth, reinforce client relations, and aid in ongoing success. This position involves engaging with clients, uncovering new prospects, and providing commercial value in a dynamic environment.

Location: Mallow, County Cork, Ireland (Travel Required)

Salary: €40,000 to €50,000 annually, dependent on experience

Reporting To: Head of Trading

Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within designated target markets.
  • Manage entire sales process from generating leads through to order closure.
  • Create and deliver sales proposals, pricing frameworks, and formal commercial agreements.
  • Meet established targets for sales revenue, profit margins, and growth goals.
  • Maintain up-to-date sales forecasts and manage the sales pipeline effectively.
  • Act as the main commercial liaison for assigned key accounts, ensuring excellent service and client retention.
  • Develop and nurture strong, long-term customer relationships across multiple organizational levels.
  • Understand customer needs, commercial motivations, and supply chain priorities.
  • Spot and pursue opportunities to expand product lines, boost sales volume, and increase market share.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction levels remain high, promote contract compliance and foster retention.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain, SHERQ, and Finance departments to coordinate pricing, contracts, product availability, and logistics.
  • Assist in resolving customer complaints, escalations, and claims as needed.
  • Support forecasting and planning related to demand management activities.
  • Keep CRM records up to date, track customer engagements, and maintain detailed account plans.
  • Provide periodic sales performance reports to leadership.
  • Monitor and analyze competitor activities, industry trends, and market dynamics.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated background in B2B sales, business development, or key account management.
  • Experience negotiating pricing and contractual agreements.
  • Strong expertise in managing customer relationships effectively.
