Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Arborist - Tree Climber to join our team in Darwin, Northern Territory. The role requires hands-on experience in tree care and landscaping, focusing on preparing, planting, maintaining various green areas, and performing tree assessments and treatments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage seedbeds and growth areas for planting.
- Propagate and cultivate trees, shrubs, hedges, flowers, and bulbs.
- Prepare lawn zones by adding topsoil, planting grass, and laying instant turf.
- Maintain planted and grassed areas through weeding, trimming, fertilizing, watering, and mowing.
- Prune trees and hedges and install support and protection for plants.
- Create plans and drawings, choose materials and plants, and organize landscape construction schedules.
- Install hardscape and softscape elements including gravel paths, paved areas, walls, fences, pergolas, ponds, barbecues, and garden furniture.
- Assess tree health and condition to determine necessary treatments.
- Perform tree limb removal and branch shaping using chainsaws and hand saws.
- Apply insecticides and fungicides to manage pests and diseases, and safely remove diseased trees.
Requirements
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience working as an Arborist.
- Possess an AQF Certificate III with a minimum of two years hands-on experience or an AQF Certificate IV.
