Draftsman (Architectural)

Role Overview

The Architectural Draftsman will support Construction Managers, Architects, and Surveyors in various stages of project planning and organization. This role involves interpreting building plans, complying with relevant regulations and codes, and preparing detailed drawings and specifications to advance architectural projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and organizing construction and architectural projects alongside relevant professionals.
• Interpret architectural plans and ensure adherence to official regulations and standards.
• Create initial sketches, detailed working drawings, and technical specifications for projects.
• Edit and revise maps, charts, plans, and drawings as project requirements evolve.
• Coordinate scheduling and sequencing of work programs to maintain project timelines.
• Inspect materials and workmanship to confirm compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Estimate costs and prepare timelines to guide project budgeting and scheduling.
• Gather field data using surveying tools and photogrammetry devices.
• Conduct routine calculations and prepare preliminary data visualizations and plots.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of an AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma corresponding to ANZSCO Skill Level 2.
• A minimum of three years of practical experience in related architectural or construction drafting work.
