Software Engineer - AI/ML

Responsibilities

• Develop code for products or systems pertinent to Google’s technology needs.
• Engage in design and code reviews with teammates and stakeholders to uphold technology best practices including style, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
• Create and update documentation and educational materials reflecting product developments and user feedback.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve product or system issues impacting service quality, infrastructure, or hardware.
• Develop and optimize machine learning solutions, leveraging ML infrastructure and enhancing model performance and data workflows.

Minimum Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, or 1 year if holding an advanced degree.
• Minimum 1 year experience in one or more AI/ML specializations like speech/audio processing, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or other ML domains.
• At least 1 year working with ML infrastructure, including deployment, evaluation, optimization, data processing, or debugging.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more in software design and architectural roles.
• Experience programming with C++.
• History of testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• Experience in technical leadership positions.
• Background in developing accessible technologies.
