Role overview
Aquent is seeking a commercially driven Recruitment Consultant to create and grow their own market. Rather than working from incoming briefs, you’ll identify opportunities early, understand the hiring needs behind business events such as funding rounds, acquisitions, and AI projects, and turn that insight into new business.
This position is designed for someone who enjoys building from scratch: developing a desk, expanding a client base, and shaping their own success with support from a well-established global brand and modern AI-powered sourcing tools.
This is not a talent acquisition role. The company is looking for an agency recruiter or a sales-oriented professional who can build relationships, win opportunities, and develop a market independently.
What you’ll do
- Identify and pursue new recruitment opportunities before they become obvious in the market.
- Build and manage your own desk, market, and business pipeline.
- Drive business development activity and secure new clients and assignments.
- Use AI-enabled recruitment tools to support sourcing and market growth.
- Develop strong relationships and convert commercial opportunities into hiring outcomes.
- Work with autonomy while staying aligned with the support provided by the business.
Candidate profile
The ideal person will be commercially minded, self-motivated, and comfortable with the challenge of creating growth from zero. Experience in agency recruitment is well suited to this role, as is a strong sales background with the ability to open doors and win trust.
You should be someone who enjoys business development, can spot market opportunities quickly, and is motivated by building long-term success rather than waiting for roles to be handed to you.
