Job Overview
Fratelli Cosulich Bunkers (S) Pte Ltd is seeking a Purchasing Executive to join their Singapore office. This role involves managing the procurement processes related to vessel requirements while adhering to company guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Purchase Orders in line with company procurement policies.
- Place orders for vessel supplies only after approval by Technical or Marine Superintendent.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the most favorable pricing and terms, including payment and delivery conditions.
- Manage invoice processing and verification for spares and stores orders.
- Review requisitions and coordinate with marine and technical departments to resolve any issues related to specifications, quality, quantities, or delivery timelines.
- Prepare monthly reports detailing the status of spare parts for the fleet.
- Maintain and regularly update the approved vendors list.
- Assess new vendors and perform periodic evaluations of existing suppliers to recommend approval under senior management oversight.
- Coordinate logistics for transporting spares and stores to ships as directed by Superintendents.
- Keep organized filing systems for purchase-related documents like SR, PO, DO, WO, and pass out notes to monitor procurement logistics.
- Prepare procurement audit documentation, assist in closing audit findings, and maintain records supporting process enhancements.
- Arrange shipping of stores and spares via air, sea, and road freight to/from Singapore and overseas ports.
- Continually evaluate and identify suppliers and products offering the best value, delivery performance, and quality.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by Purchasing Manager or Senior Management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum Diploma in Procurement, Logistics, Marine Studies, or related disciplines.
- At least one year of procurement experience, ideally within marine or shipping industries.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to work independently with a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and effective interpersonal and negotiation capabilities.
