Procurement Specialist

Role Overview

Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is leading Australia's largest transport infrastructure program, ensuring efficient movement of people and goods across the state. The Procurement Specialist will join the vibrant Operational Sourcing team to deliver essential procurement expertise and operational support that drive organizational and customer success.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end sourcing activities for goods and services, adhering strictly to procurement policies, procedures, and governance standards.
• Prepare Request for Quotation (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP) documents, and contracts (excluding technical scope) consistent with the NSW Government Procurement Framework.
• Oversee timely and accurate processing of purchase orders and requisitions through procurement systems.
• Offer valuable guidance and problem-solving assistance to internal teams and external suppliers on routine procurement inquiries.
• Engage in commercial negotiations, including supplier evaluations and pricing discussions, to develop beneficial supply arrangements focused on value for money.
• Maintain precise procurement records, track Whole-of-Government schemes and approved panels, and generate reports detailing procurement activities.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience executing full lifecycle sourcing events, including drafting RFQs, RFPs, and contracts.
• Proficiency with Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and transactional procurement workflows.
• Strong communication capabilities paired with proactive problem-solving aptitude in high-volume, dynamic environments.
• A dedication to excellent customer service, building positive stakeholder relationships, and maintaining professional ethics.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience using procurement platforms such as ARIBA, SAP, Beeline, or Guided Buy is highly advantageous.
• Background in procurement or contract management within NSW Government or broader public sector is preferred.
• Note: This role does not require supply chain, inventory, materials planning, or warehousing experience.

Eligibility and Requirements

• Applicants must have full working rights in Australia; holiday visas are not accepted.
• Successful candidates are subject to two professional reference checks, a Police Check, identity verification, and onboard with TfNSW declarations including Code of Conduct and List of Rights.

Working Conditions

This position operates under a hybrid working model, requiring attendance in the Burwood office on Mondays and Tuesdays. The hourly compensation is $65 inclusive of superannuation, with the contract continuing immediately until 24 December 2026.
