PCB Design Technician

About the Role

Join our cutting-edge R&D group to play a pivotal role in crafting advanced aerospace high voltage battery systems through expert PCB design. We are on the lookout for a talented PCB Design Technician experienced in designing rigid, flex, and hybrid PCBs in compliance with IPC standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and revise PCB layouts derived from electrical schematics and engineering needs.
• Build and upkeep a comprehensive component library, creating symbols and footprints aligned with IPC norms.
• Apply design rules addressing signal and power integrity, alongside EMI/EMC and manufacturability considerations.
• Ensure all PCB designs meet IPC-2221, IPC-7351, IPC-6012, and associated standards.
• Produce requisite fabrication and assembly documents, including Gerbers, drill files, BOMs, and pick-and-place data.
• Conduct design rule checks and assist during design evaluations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement design adjustments and resolve layout challenges.
• Engage with fabricators and assemblers to tackle manufacturing queries and incorporate DFM/DFA feedback.
• Maintain accurate version control alongside detailed technical documentation.

Candidate Profile

• Possesses diploma or associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or similar disciplines.
• Brings a minimum of five years’ experience in PCB layout or related electronics design support.
• Proficient with PCB design software like Altium Designer, OrCAD, Eagle, KiCad, or equivalents.
• Deep knowledge of IPC standards covering PCB design, fabrication, and assembly processes.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics effectively.
• Familiarity with PCB manufacturing techniques including rigid, flex, thick copper, and metal clad boards.
• Experience with manufacturing and assembly procedures for PCBs.
• IPC certification such as IPC CID or CID+ is advantageous.
• Exposure to multilayer, high voltage, high-speed, or mixed-signal PCB environments is a plus.
• Understanding of quality and regulatory compliance requirements pertinent to controlled industries.

Compensation

The salary for this role ranges from €55,000 to €65,000 annually.
