Job description
Overview
We seek a meticulous and analytically minded Payroll Coordinator to become part of our payroll team. This role involves leveraging Workday to manage payroll inquiries from restaurants and the Restaurant Support Center (RSC), aiding payroll processing for both Hourly and Salaried employees, and fulfilling other assigned responsibilities.
Location and Work Arrangement
This position is located at our Tampa, FL Restaurant Support Center. Employees will work onsite a minimum of three days a week (with Tuesday and Wednesday mandatory) and remotely for two days weekly. Candidates should either reside locally in Tampa Bay or be prepared to relocate immediately. Note that relocation assistance is not offered.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to all payroll-related questions, including earnings, deductions, stop payment requests, immediate terminations, and pay card inquiries.
- Review and manage ACH returns; support the processing of off-cycle payments as necessary.
- Issue on-demand checks for terminations in states mandating immediate payment upon termination.
- Collaborate with payroll team members to process weekly multi-state payroll, including pay adjustments, audits, and resolving pay discrepancies with restaurant management.
- Support third-party unemployment claims processors by providing requested information.
- Address garnishment inquiries in coordination with third-party garnishment administrators (ADP) and conduct audits of garnishment withholding.
- Assist payroll tax team with audit activities when required.
- Update and create process documentation as needed.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by Payroll Leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources Management, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- At least three years of relevant professional experience.
- Basic familiarity with federal and state wage and tax regulations, or a demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge through training and self-direction.
- Capable of managing deadlines and prioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel at a foundational level and an eagerness to enhance skills.
- Strong ethical standards with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive payroll data.
