About the Role

BASF's Agricultural Solutions team in Regina, Saskatchewan is seeking a Millwright to perform mechanical maintenance tasks with a focus on safety, reliability, and efficiency at the chemical manufacturing site. The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting equipment failures, and supporting overall plant operation and asset integrity to maximize uptime.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance activities according to SAP work orders while adhering to job plans, procedures, and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues and assist in rapid recovery during unexpected breakdowns, including participating in on-call rotations covering evenings, weekends, and emergencies.
• Install, repair, and replace mechanical parts such as pumps, bearings, seals, gearboxes, conveyors, and related machinery components.
• Engage in equipment inspections, condition monitoring, and continuous improvement efforts for maintenance practices and documentation.
• Support plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and outage events by preparing and commissioning equipment accordingly.
• Contribute maintenance expertise during project design and Management of Change reviews to enhance equipment serviceability and reliability.
• Participate actively in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and environmental, health, and safety programs within the site.

Experience and Qualifications

• Possess an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) Certificate recognized by the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC).
• Hold or be able to obtain a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license.
• Proven experience maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical equipment in industrial or manufacturing settings, preferably in continuous production environments aligned with industrial EHS standards.
• Familiarity with planned and reliability-centered maintenance programs, executing preventive, predictive, and corrective work orders.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilities, knowledgeable of pumps, gearboxes, bearings, couplings, conveyors, rotating equipment, and mechanical drives; ability to interpret mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and P&IDs.
• Experience in alignment, rigging, precision measurement techniques, and mechanical installations.
• Competency using Enterprise Asset Management software, especially SAP PM, for work order handling and maintenance documentation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
