About the Role
City College Dublin invites applications for a part-time Lecturer position to teach the IT Essentials module. We seek a passionate and knowledgeable IT professional or educator to deliver engaging, practical, and industry-relevant instruction that equips students with vital digital and technical competencies.
Position Details
- Location: On-campus teaching at South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2
- Contract Type: Part-time
- Duration: One 12-week semester
- Weekly Teaching Hours: 5 hours during daytime
- Class Schedule: Fridays from 11:50 AM to 5:00 PM
- Start Date: Week commencing 7th September 2026

- Introduction to the Evolution of ICT
- Fundamentals of Information Systems
- Microsoft Office ECDL Certification preparation
- ICT Security Essentials
- Digital Multimedia Concepts
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a postgraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Relevant practical or industry experience in IT support, systems administration, networking, cybersecurity, or associated technical areas
- Comprehensive technical expertise in computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and troubleshooting
- High level of digital literacy with competence in incorporating modern technologies into teaching methods
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, student-focused approach devoted to enhancing learner engagement, academic progression, and employability
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in lecturing, teaching, or professional training roles
- Experience with delivering IT Essentials, Computer Hardware, Networking, or comparable technology courses in higher education or vocational training settings
- Possession of relevant industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft certifications, or equivalents
