Tuwaiq Casting & Forging Company is a collaborative venture between Saudi Arabian Industrial Investments Company (Dussur), Saudi Aramco, and Doosan Heavy Industries, strategically located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The firm operates a cutting-edge facility specializing in sand mold casting and open-mold forging, aiming to achieve an annual output of 60,000 tons. Tuwaiq caters to both domestic and international clients primarily in the oil and gas sectors as well as other heavy industries. Its portfolio extends to support the marine, engine, and drilling equipment markets, playing a pivotal role in industrial advancement and regional economic growth. Role Summary
The Laboratory Supervisor position is a full-time, on-site placement located in Ras Al Khair. This leadership role involves directing daily laboratory functions including scheduling and overseeing testing operations that underpin casting and forging production and quality assurance processes. The supervisor ensures laboratory equipment is properly utilized, maintained, and calibrated. They enforce quality control standards and verify testing outcomes comply with internal benchmarks and regulatory directives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage laboratory personnel schedules and oversee team performance.
- Plan and supervise laboratory testing activities supporting manufacturing quality.
- Ensure maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments pertinent to casting and forging.
- Implement and monitor quality control protocols, confirming conformity to standards.
- Train staff on safety measures and testing procedures.
- Collaborate with production and quality departments to address and resolve technical challenges.
- Maintain accurate documentation and deliver analytical reports.
- Optimize laboratory processes and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science, materials science, chemistry, metallurgy, or related technical discipline.
- Experience in industrial or metallurgical laboratories, ideally within casting, forging, or oil and gas sectors.
- Strong supervisory skills including team leadership, delegation, and performance management.
- Proficiency with laboratory equipment operation, maintenance, and calibration.
- Competence in quality control and analytical techniques ensuring compliance with product and process standards.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, ISO or other quality management systems, and lab best practices.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and reporting abilities, with familiarity in laboratory information systems and relevant productivity tools.
- Ability to work onsite in Ras Al Khair and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic industrial setting.
