Role Overview
Tuwaiq Casting & Forging is looking for a knowledgeable and hands-on Packing Specialist to join its Production Control team. The person in this position will report directly to the Production Control Manager and handle all aspects of packing finished products. Responsibilities include ensuring finished goods are packed, labeled, and prepared for shipment accurately and efficiently following company and customer standards. Maintaining a well-organized, productive, and safe packing area is also crucial.
Key Duties
- Develop detailed work instructions for the packing staff.
- Plan and organize packing tasks to meet production deadlines and shipping targets.
- Track workflow, identify any delays or bottlenecks, and apply corrective measures to optimize packing efficiency.
- Maintain consistent packing output aligned with production schedules.
- Set and uphold quality benchmarks for packing methods and materials.
- Regularly inspect packaging and labeling processes to guarantee accuracy and proper handling of finished products.
- Ensure compliance with all packaging requirements specified by the company and its customers.
- Lead, train, and motivate the packing team, including packers and material handlers.
- Conduct performance reviews and offer feedback to support staff growth.
- Manage staff schedules, leaves, and ensure sufficient team coverage.
- Supervise inventory of packing materials such as boxes, tape, labels, and protective packaging.
- Order packing supplies timely while managing costs and inventory levels efficiently.
- Monitor usage of materials, minimize waste, and ensure proper storage.
- Guarantee adherence to safety regulations within the packing area.
- Perform routine safety audits and oversee corrective actions to eliminate hazards.
- Provide safety training sessions for packing department staff.
- Seek and apply process enhancements to increase efficiency, safety, and quality in packing operations.
- Assess potential new packing technologies and equipment for possible implementation.
- Keep updated with industry advancements and packaging best practices.
- Coordinate closely with production, shipping, and customer service teams.
- Provide frequent reports to management detailing packing shop performance.
- Maintain accurate records of packing activities and consumables usage.
- Generate reports analyzing packaging metrics and overall performance.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities related to packing materials and processes.
- Monitor departmental expenses to ensure economic use of resources.
Candidate Requirements
- Educational background with a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field considered advantageous.
- At least 5 years working in packing or warehouse environments, including a minimum of 2 to 3 years in supervisory or management roles.
- Essential experience in packing operations within the heavy metals sector.
