Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site Handyman position in Charlottesville, VA. The role supports residential and light commercial work, covering tasks such as carpentry repairs, small remodeling jobs, deck and fence work, and the installation of fixtures and hardware. The position requires someone who is comfortable with hands-on work, can evaluate job needs, use tools safely, keep the workspace tidy, and communicate clearly with clients and team members.

Key Duties

The Handyman will be expected to assess the work needed at each site, carry out repairs and installations, and help deliver projects to a high standard. The job may also include contributing to larger renovation assignments, supporting small electrical tasks when properly supervised, and coordinating with leadership and coworkers to keep work moving efficiently.

Qualifications

• Solid hands-on ability in basic carpentry, home repair, and installation work, including decks, doors, windows, and trim.
• Capability to handle minor remodeling work, assist with additions, and contribute to custom projects with care and accuracy.
• Comfortable using hand tools and power tools while following job-site safety procedures and best practices.
• Working familiarity with common handyman-level electrical and plumbing tasks, with willingness to operate under licensed supervision when needed.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and the judgment to identify issues, suggest practical fixes, and complete work efficiently.
• Professional communication and customer service skills for interacting with clients and teammates.
• Dependable transportation, strong punctuality, and readiness to work full-time on-site in different weather and site conditions.
• Prior experience in handyman, construction, or trade work is preferred; certifications or vocational training are considered an advantage.
