Role Overview

This Finance Controller position is a hands-on, permanent, full-time role requiring active involvement with business operations rather than isolation. The successful candidate will lead finance and accounting activities, enhance controls, improve reporting accuracy, oversee cash flow, and provide actionable financial insights to support management decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily finance and accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, billing, payroll, audits, reconciliations, ledger activities, journal entries, and month-/year-end closing processes.
• Prepare monthly financial metrics, periodic financial statements, cash flow analyses, budget variance reports, and other financial tools essential to leadership and operational teams.
• Monitor cash flow and risks, detect deficiencies, and ensure executives have timely access to financial risk and performance data.
• Lead efforts to refine financial processes and internal controls, eliminate duplicated reporting, and promote cost management initiatives.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for the accounting team including recruitment and retention of skilled professionals.
• Present financial information to stakeholders such as leadership, auditors, and investors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum five years in senior finance roles such as Finance Manager or Controller with team leadership experience.
• Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis alongside strong experience in financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and ledger administration.
• Background in transportation, trucking, logistics, or a similar high-paced operational industry is highly preferred.
• Expertise in cost control, financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and implementing process enhancements.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and proficient in Microsoft Word.
• Excellent command of English communication skills, strong organizational ability, and capability to manage multiple demands effectively.
• Knowledge or experience with TMW/TruckMate and QuickBooks is advantageous.

Education and Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline required.
• Professional accounting certification such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent mandatory.
