Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

This position calls for expertise in designing electrical systems across HV, MV, and LV levels, with preferred experience in cathodic protection systems (CPG). The role involves hands-on development of electrical design deliverables while managing multiple projects simultaneously to facilitate timely completion and interdisciplinary coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Design high, medium, and low voltage power systems, including crafting Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and load lists.
• Prepare electrical equipment specifications, technical datasheets, and layout drawings.
• Execute precise electrical calculations such as cable sizing, cable tray dimensioning, and compilation of cable and distribution board schedules.
• Conduct lighting design using industry software and generate comprehensive lighting drawings.
• Participate in preparation of tender documents and bills of quantities (BOQ), assess technical bids, and review vendor drawings thoroughly.
• Apply knowledge of international electrical codes and standards like IS, IEC, IEEE, and NEC.
• Operate specialized systems for hazardous area requirements, heat tracing, cathodic protection, and utilize tools such as ETAP for load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and relay coordination studies.
• Review vendor documentation meticulously to ensure compliance.
• Work within food plant design standards and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Exposure to and experience with international projects adhering to USA or European standards is advantageous.
• Additional expertise in instrumentation and control systems will be considered a benefit.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in any engineering discipline.
