About the Opportunity
Join the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) as a Dispute Resolution Coordinator within the Building and Tenancy Services branch based in Hamilton. This permanent position offers a salary range between 60727 and 70625 NZD annually, inclusive of KiwiSaver contributions and wellness benefits.
The role involves managing tenancy disputes under the Residential Tenancies Act and the Unit Titles Act, delivering exceptional case management services, prioritizing service for Māori and New Zealand's diverse communities. Responsibilities include evaluating tribunal applications to identify dispute types and determining appropriate resolutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clear, accessible information to parties about dispute resolution and procedural steps.
- Manage scheduling and administrative tasks including arranging applications for mediators and maintaining case files.
- Prioritize workload effectively to meet operational deadlines for the Tenancy Tribunal.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong customer-centric engagement abilities.
- Excellent communication skills to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
- Robust organisational and administrative skills coupled with solid customer service experience.
- Ability to critically assess issues through conceptual and analytical thinking.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with legislative frameworks and compliance.
- Legal entitlement to live and work in New Zealand is mandatory.
Knowledge of Residential Tenancy Act principles is advantageous but not compulsory.
