Position Overview
We are looking for a proactive Data Analytics Product Owner with expertise in data analytics to manage EPAM Demand Analytics products end to end. You will collaborate with Workforce Planning and Management (WPM) leaders to develop use cases, clarify business needs into detailed requirements, and partner closely with Data Product Analysts, BI Developers, and Engineers to build, test, and refine the underlying analytics logic. The role requires a balance of strategic product ownership and hands-on analytical thinking, with deep involvement in metric definitions and decision processes throughout delivery within a Scrum team environment.
About the Project
The project is a sophisticated people analytics platform providing leadership, resource managers, and business partners insightful data for improved decision-making. Covering multiple sectors like Staffing, GDO Operations, and People Management, the initiative is supported by a team of over 60 data experts including analysts, scientists, engineers, and product managers.
Primary Duties
- Manage the analytics product backlog by transforming business challenges into actionable backlog items, drafting user stories, acceptance criteria, and ensuring that delivered solutions meet business needs.
- Define and maintain the meaning, calculation, business rules, stakeholders, and use cases of every Demand Analytics metric, resolving edge cases jointly with stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Develop strong collaborations with WPM leaders, Staffing Partners, and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements, question ambiguous requests, and convert business queries into practical analytical solutions.
- Work daily with delivery teams including Data Product Analysts, BI Developers, and Engineers to design, review, and adjust solutions, requirements, and priorities swiftly during development.
- Lead training, communications, and change management initiatives to promote product adoption.
- Promote a data-product mindset by ensuring consistent metric and semantic definitions across all reporting channels, emphasizing product building over disparate reports.
Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience in product ownership, including backlog prioritization, user story creation, and working closely with Agile/Scrum teams for data analytics products or projects.
- Expertise in defining KPIs and metrics in business terms and translating them into detailed calculation formulas, rules, and requirements, validated with both senior stakeholders and technical teams.
- Practical experience in data analytics projects, capable of transforming business questions into analytics demands, and collaborating effectively with technical teams to deliver actionable insights.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, comfortable presenting to senior leadership and bridging business-technical discussions.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with analysts, BI developers, and engineers throughout a shared delivery process, from requirements gathering to solution validation and release.
- Familiarity with BI and analytics platforms such as Power BI or Tableau to effectively engage with developers on dashboard functionality and reporting requirements.
Desirable Skills
- In-depth knowledge of Staffing and Workforce Planning Management (WPM), including relevant metrics and decision-making processes.
- Experience in requirements engineering: converting business needs into detailed technical specifications covering data freshness, granularity, and semantic accuracy.
- Background in change management, encompassing training facilitation, communication strategy, and adoption of new tools and processes.
Benefits
- Work with like-minded professionals on innovative solutions impacting global industry leaders.
- Enjoy a positive work environment whether remotely or from a vibrant office setting.
- Opportunity to work abroad for up to two months annually with relocation possibilities to over 55 company offices worldwide.
- Access to corporate and social events fostering community and collaboration.
- Professional growth support including leadership coaching, career advising, soft skills, wellness programs, and certifications such as GCP, Azure, and AWS.
- Unlimited access to e-learning platforms and free English language classes with certified teachers.
- Attractive compensation including referral bonuses, comprehensive medical and family care packages, six trust days annually (sick leave without medical certificates), psychological support, discounts on fitness and sports activities, and a broad benefits package covering various stores and services.
