The Wagga Wagga City Council is inviting applications from experienced labourers to join various Council locations on a casual basis. These roles offer diverse work activities and are ideal for those looking for variety in their job.
Employment Details
The jobs are casual and engaged as needed throughout the year, with applications kept on file to fill openings as they come up. Compensation is set at a gross hourly rate of $35.86, which includes casual loading, plus a 12% superannuation contribution.
For employees aged 15 to 18, pay rates adhere to the Local Government (State) Award 2023, Clause 32 for Junior and Trainee Employment. Further details can be found in the Council's Junior Rates of Pay Fact Sheet.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general labouring duties.
- Engage in fencing and litter control tasks.
- Handle concrete work and paving activities.
- Manage pedestrian and traffic flow controls.
- Operate and maintain various equipment, tools, and machinery.
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience in a labouring capacity.
- Possess a minimum Class C Driver's Licence.
- Hold a General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Strong motivation and dedication to community service.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety standards related to the position.
Health and Safety Compliance
In line with Work Health and Safety laws, candidates must be vaccinated and provide proof of immunization against Hepatitis B for Parks and Gardens roles, and Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Tetanus for positions at Gregadoo Waste Management Centre. Some roles at the Livestock Marketing Centre require evidence of Q-Fever immunization. Documentation of these vaccinations must be supplied before starting work.
