About the Role
Join our pharmacy team as a Dispenser, playing a vital role in supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals within the store to deliver pharmacy and healthcare services safely and efficiently. This position involves interacting closely with patients by understanding their needs, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the lawful sale of medicines, and advising patients to help them make informed health decisions.
Based on-site in the UK, candidates must demonstrate valid UK work eligibility and relevant qualifications, as remote applications and those outside the UK without proper credentials will not be accepted.
Key Duties
- Dispense prescriptions accurately while ensuring the safe supply of medications, including ordering, labeling, endorsing scripts, and prescription collection processes.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff in the store to manage and deliver pharmacy services efficiently.
- Offer patients advice regarding their medication and direct queries to the pharmacist when necessary.
- Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures to maintain safe and legal dispensing operations.
- Stay updated on store innovations and follow operational procedures diligently.
- Support patients in managing their prescriptions effectively, encouraging adherence, and reducing medication waste.
You will also engage with new dispensing technologies to improve safety and efficiency, freeing up more time for patient interaction.
Training and Career Growth
Regular training updates will enhance your healthcare knowledge, with opportunities to progress towards Pharmacy Technician qualifications or leadership roles within the store.
Candidate Requirements
- Completion of Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 qualification or equivalent, or progression through the first year of an MPharm program.
- Possession of current and valid UK work authorization; note this role does not support Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in community pharmacy environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
Compensation
Hourly pay starts at £13.92, potentially rising to £16.64 in select London locations.
