Role Overview
The Cost Controller position is a full-time, on-premise role based in Doha, responsible for closely tracking and analyzing all cost elements within the business, from raw materials and inventory to production expenses and overheads. Key duties involve preparing and verifying cost reports, managing cost variances, and delivering insightful financial data to inform management's budgeting and forecasting decisions. The role requires close collaboration with operations, procurement, and finance teams to assure accurate costing and data reliability, while suggesting cost-saving strategies that maintain product quality. Additional responsibilities include supporting the establishment and upkeep of cost control policies, assisting in month-end financial close procedures, and driving improvements in financial processes.
Key Qualifications
- Expertise in cost control and management, with proven experience in monitoring and optimizing production and operational costs.
- Strong foundation in cost accounting and finance, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Excellent analytical abilities to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet applications and financial software; familiarity with ERP or accounting systems is a significant advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline; certifications like CMA are beneficial.
- Prior experience in food and beverage, hospitality, or retail sectors, especially in cost-intensive settings, is preferred.
- Meticulous attention to detail and integrity in handling financial data, with capability to work under deadline pressure in fast-moving environments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively engage with multiple internal departments on-site.
