Position Overview
As an Assistant Maintenance Engineer specializing in Epitaxy, you will work within a 12-hour rotating shift structure to provide technical support and leadership to a front-end module maintenance team. Your focus will be on maintaining the reliability and performance of advanced semiconductor equipment in a cleanroom environment, executing troubleshooting tasks, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support shift maintenance teams to carry out daily operational tasks on front-end module equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving mechanical, electrical, electronics, and control systems of process tools.
- Assist with developing and carrying out both preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for designated equipment.
- Offer technical oversight, hands-on training, and mentorship to maintenance technicians.
- Work collaboratively with vendors, process engineers, and cross-functional support teams to address and resolve escalated equipment challenges and to optimize equipment performance.
- Collect, scrutinize, and report on maintenance data including downtime, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), MTTR (Mean Time To Repair), and recurring faults on shift.
- Participate in projects aimed at boosting equipment uptime, reliability, and factory throughput.
- Follow cleanroom protocols rigorously, maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a closely related engineering field.
- Solid foundation in semiconductor equipment troubleshooting.
- Practical experience working with front-end process equipment and control systems is considered advantageous.
- Demonstrated capability in shift work environments, preferably with experience in team coordination or supervisory roles.
- Strong abilities in analysis, documentation, written and verbal communication.
- Availability and willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 cleanroom setting.
