About the Role
Our client is a well-established distributor serving retail partners across multiple sectors with dependable, high-quality products and services. The business is built around a capable team and a strong focus on understanding each customer’s needs with care and accuracy. As the organisation expands, it is seeking a Business Development Manager to help drive the next stage of growth. This position is field-based and involves regular customer visits, relationship building, and independently managing sales activity.
What You’ll Do
- Push sales results by consistently reaching targets, developing existing accounts, and bringing in new business.
- Strengthen retailer partnerships through frequent store visits, high-quality service, and effective promotional activity.
- Take ownership of your territory using data, market intelligence, and organised planning to improve sales, margins, and long-term growth.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth execution and strong commercial outcomes.
What They’re Looking For
- At least 3 years of experience in account management, sales, or business development.
- Solid knowledge of the FMCG sector, preferably in grocery retail.
- Comfortable working collaboratively and aligned with company values.
- Strong relationship-building and customer management skills.
- Results-driven mindset with a clear focus on KPIs and targets.
- Ability to offer professional guidance that supports strong in-store standards.
- Experience handling sales performance and maintaining healthy profit margins.
- Understanding of retail expectations around health and safety, food safety, and HR.
- Familiarity with major social media platforms and their use in business.
- Proven ability to spot and act on commercial opportunities.
- Full, clean driving licence required.
