Job description
Position Overview
An international law firm is recruiting a Technology, Data & Privacy Solicitor to enhance its expanding Irish practice. This role suits solicitors with approximately three to four years post-qualification experience (PQE), with some flexibility for candidates possessing highly relevant backgrounds. The successful applicant will collaborate closely with a senior partner experienced in advising on privacy, data protection, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and broader technology regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance on Irish and EU data protection laws, including GDPR compliance.
- Support clients in the creation and management of AI systems, applications, and governance policies.
- Advise on emerging digital, AI, and technology regulatory frameworks.
- Assist clients with cybersecurity events, data breaches, conducting risk assessments, and fulfilling regulatory notification requirements.
- Manage international data transfers and coordinate multi-jurisdictional privacy initiatives.
- Contribute to new product development, digital marketing, advertising technology, and data analytics projects.
- Draft and review privacy policies, data processing agreements, and technology-related contractual documentation.
- Help clients design and implement global privacy compliance programs.
- Collaborate with corporate and commercial teams on transactions involving technology, data, and regulatory issues.
- Work in partnership with colleagues in the firm’s global offices on cross-border engagements.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified solicitor with about three to four years of PQE, with some flexibility depending on specific experience.
- Experienced in at least one sector among technology, data protection, privacy, cybersecurity, AI, or digital regulation.
- Capable of advising on complex regulatory and commercial issues.
- Strong drafting abilities, effective communication, and client relationship management skills.
- A collaborative approach to working with diverse practice areas and international teams.
- Passion for developments in AI, privacy, and technology law.
