Overview
Based in Sydney Olympic Park, this 12-month contract role with Cheil Australia offers a chance to join a dynamic creative agency transitioning into a new growth phase. The position is focused on high-impact copywriting that not only informs but also engages, influences, and resonates across diverse marketing channels.
Key Duties
- Craft compelling copy across various briefs including brand campaigns, product launches, retail, social media, digital platforms, eDMs, outdoor advertising, and content marketing.
- Collaborate closely with art directors to develop and realize big ideas, ensuring all copy aligns with the overall creative vision.
- Employ strategic thinking by understanding briefs, brand identity, target audiences, and market competition prior to writing.
- Adapt and modify copy to suit multiple formats during campaign rollouts while maintaining consistent tone of voice.
- Confidently present and explain creative concepts to internal teams and clients, supporting work with clarity and professionalism.
- Work alongside account managers to comprehend client business objectives and translate them into effective creative content.
- Participate actively in brainstorming sessions, new business proposals, and initiatives to generate innovative creative ideas.
- Stay updated with cultural trends, digital advancements, and industry developments, bringing fresh insights to the team.
- Ensure seamless integration of copy with visual elements by partnering with designers and art directors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or qualification in copywriting, communications, journalism, or related discipline.
- At least three years of experience within creative, integrated, or content agency environments.
- An active portfolio demonstrating diverse conceptual thinking, adaptable tone, and ability to write for multiple audiences and channels.
- Strong grasp of brand voice management, digital platform nuances, and format-specific copywriting techniques.
- Proven experience in presenting and persuasively selling creative concepts to clients.
- Versatility working with both extensive long-form copy (e.g., manifestos) and concise short-form copy (e.g., email subject lines).
