About the Role
Homestead Land Holdings Limited is seeking a Property Manager Trainee to join their team, overseeing the residential operations of a portfolio of properties in the Burlington area. In this position, you will be responsible for staff supervision and ensuring building operations meet standards of efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This role is designed to help you develop management skills pertinent to residential property oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day tasks of portfolio staff and nurture productive working relationships within your team.
- Oversee the financial performance of your assigned properties, focusing on Net Operating Income (NOI) and capital expenditure (CAPEX) management.
- Maintain accurate and timely records and documentation relevant to building operations.
- Monitor properties to ensure safe and efficient operation, in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Analyze and interpret monthly financial reports to drive informed decisions.
- Respond to emergency situations as required, including after-hours availability.
- Handle any additional duties as assigned to support business needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution is mandatory.
- Effective oral and written communication abilities are essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive staff relationships.
- Competency with computers and related technologies.
- Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced setting and results-driven mindset.
- Prior supervisory or management experience is an advantage, but not required.
- Familiarity with property management practices and legal requirements is considered beneficial.
- A reliable vehicle and a valid Ontario driver’s license are required.
