Mobile Building Operator (Live-Out) - Kingston

Job Overview

Homestead Land Holdings Limited is seeking a Mobile Building Operator to support a wide range of residential properties in Kingston, Ontario. The successful candidate will provide essential maintenance, cleaning, and administrative services across multiple locations, stepping in to ensure seamless operation during staff absences such as vacations or sick days. This role requires a flexible and proactive individual who can deliver consistent, high-quality service to residents while working a standard 40-hour week plus on-call hours.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness in common spaces and corridors of various buildings.
• Prepare apartments for new occupants by ensuring readiness and cleanliness.
• Carry out minor maintenance tasks related to plumbing and electrical systems.
• Carry out exterior groundskeeping and upkeep as needed.
• Respond promptly to tenant inquiries and concerns, maintaining positive tenant relations.
• Conduct showings of available units to potential residents and assist with rental agreements and related paperwork.
• Execute rent collection and document management tasks.
• Distribute legal notices as required.
• Ensure ongoing safety and security for residents with attention to fire and winter safety logs.
• Participate in an on-call rotation schedule to address issues as they arise outside regular hours.
• Maintain accurate inventory and stock control records.
• Additional responsibilities as delegated by the Property Manager.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Prior experience in maintenance or cleaning roles is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain First Aid certification, with costs covered by the employer.
• Physical capability to lift up to 20 kilograms, e.g., handling trash bags and equipment.
• Reliable, attentive to detail, with a strong commitment to safe work practices.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Ability to work well within a team environment.
• Valid driver's license and access to a dependable vehicle.
