About the Role
Kingborough Council is seeking candidates for several full-time Maintenance and Construction Worker positions located at the Kingston Works Depot within the Roads Unit. These roles focus on general labor tasks along with operating plant and truck machinery for maintaining and constructing roadways and drainage infrastructure. The current employment arrangement involves a 4-day workweek on a trial basis, although this may change to a nine-day fortnight.
Key Responsibilities and Experience
- Carry out general manual labor and operate various plant and machinery relevant to civil construction and roadworks.
- Work effectively as part of a team, while also demonstrating the ability to work independently when required.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience within the civil construction industry is highly favorable.
- Manual labor capability suitable for physically demanding outdoor work.
- Proficient communication skills to collaborate and coordinate with team members.
- Strong adherence to workplace health and safety protocols.
- Possession of a current driver's license and White Card is mandatory.
Additional Information
There is a potential opportunity for candidates residing on Bruny Island to work primarily on the island with minimal travel to Kingston.
