Role Overview
We seek a passionate Junior Editor & Motion Designer to join Studio La Plage who will help develop high-quality films, social content, and animated campaigns for leading global brands. This role is ideal for someone early in their career with a strong interest in storytelling, editing, and motion design.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit branded films, social content, case studies, and campaign materials across multiple formats.
- Assemble raw footage, progress edits, and refine films through feedback in collaboration with the lead editor.
- Shape pacing, narrative flow, and emotional impact of content.
- Prepare projects for color grading, sound mixing, and final output.
- Maintain professional organization of media, project files, and editing workflows.
- Create motion graphics and animations for social, digital, and film projects using After Effects.
- Animate typography, graphics, and visual identities to enhance campaign assets.
- Bring presentations and pitch materials to life with thoughtful motion design.
- Work closely with designers to convert static layouts into dynamic animations.
- Explore and experiment with new techniques to raise creative standards.
- Collaborate with creatives, strategists, producers, and the in-house film lead throughout all project phases.
- Contribute ideas during both creative development and post-production stages.
- Support presentations, internal initiatives, and new business efforts.
- Stay informed on emerging trends, creative technology, and techniques to advance the studio's craft.
- Manage organized project files and adhere to deadlines with team support.
- Foster a collaborative and ambitious studio culture encouraging idea sharing.
Candidate Profile
- Between 1 to 2 years of experience in editing, motion design, or post-production through agency work, internships, freelancing, or educational projects.
- Proficient editing skills with Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Competent knowledge of Adobe After Effects and foundational motion design principles.
- Excellent eye for pacing, composition, and storytelling through visuals.
- Comfortable working on diverse formats ranging from social-first content to longer films.
- Strong interest in documentary storytelling and contemporary visual culture.
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to accept feedback constructively and refine work continuously.
- Collaborative attitude and enthusiasm for teamwork within multidisciplinary creative groups.
- A portfolio demonstrating creativity, curiosity, and potential, including personal projects.
Desirable Additional Skills
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Basic design sensibility with an understanding of typography and layout.
- Passion for photography and filmmaking.
- On-set experience.
- Knowledge of color workflows, sound editing, or grading.
- Experience producing content for social media platforms.
- Interest in AI-assisted creative tools and emerging post-production workflows.
